For more than twenty years, Vito Di Donato has risen with the sun to make the fresh sauce and dough for his namesake pizzeria. Today, Vito’s Pizza is one of L.A.’s most beloved.
Born and raised in New Jersey, Vito learned food from his family by working in their Italian restaurant. Vito migrated from New Jersey to Los Angeles and brought his Italian roots with him. As a gift from his Aunt for his new West coast pizzeria, Vito brought the original yeast she made herself. This served as the foundation for his famous pizza crust with authentic east coast flavor.
In addition to his original West Hollywood pizzeria on La Cienega Boulevard, you can now find Vito’s Pizza on the Westside in Santa Monica with a full bar, vinyl records and a pool table in a cozy, causal setting. Vito’s Pizza is now open in Downtown LA as a full service old school Italian restaurant with an urban, clubby feel.
